This Term we have been learning about Fractions. In the video below you will find students talking about fractions, explaining their thinking, their strategies and articulating their learning. The kiddos have done an amazing job, don't you think? :)

An Introduction

Hello, my name is Sara-Lee Armstrong and I have been very excited to begin this school year at Tokomaru, a wonderful school, with an amazing group of students. I will be teaching years 6, 7, and 8 in Room Four.

I graduated in 2012 and have been teaching at Tokomaru School since 2013. The teaching position I was looking for was one in a small rural school like Tokomaru, because I adore the closeness of the community and the unique education rural full-primary schools offer. For these reasons and many more I have also decided to bring my son to this school as well.

One of my greatest passions, aside from teaching, is Art and Design. I am adept in almost every medium and look forward to bringing this experience to Tokomaru and sharing it with my students. In my spare time I like to spend quality time with my son or with my family.

After 2 years teaching at Tokomaru, I feel a part of the Tokomaru family and can’t believe how lucky I am to have been offered this position. I look forward to meeting all new parents, and to those who know me, please remember my door is always open.
